{"id":2788,"date":"2024-04-05T12:30:22","date_gmt":"2024-04-05T12:30:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstriumphs.com\/index.php\/2024\/04\/05\/ford-to-delay-all-electric-suv-to-focus-on-offering-hybrid-vehicles-across-its-lineup-by-2030\/"},"modified":"2024-04-05T12:30:22","modified_gmt":"2024-04-05T12:30:22","slug":"ford-to-delay-all-electric-suv-to-focus-on-offering-hybrid-vehicles-across-its-lineup-by-2030","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstriumphs.com\/index.php\/2024\/04\/05\/ford-to-delay-all-electric-suv-to-focus-on-offering-hybrid-vehicles-across-its-lineup-by-2030\/","title":{"rendered":"Ford to delay all-electric SUV to focus on offering hybrid vehicles across its lineup by 2030"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"\">Ford Motor\u00a0is delaying production of a new all-electric three row SUV, as it shifts to offer hybrid options across its entire North American lineup by 2030.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">The Detroit automaker\u00a0on Thursday said\u00a0it will continue to invest in EVs, but it is postponing production of the large SUV at a plant in Canada from 2025 to 2027 to allow for the market to mature more.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p class=\"\">The shift in EV plans is the latest for Ford and the entire automotive industry as adoption has been\u00a0slower than many expected\u00a0and production costs remain high.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Ford last year said it would\u00a0delay or cancel $12 billion\u00a0in planned spending on new EVs due to the shifting market conditions as well as challenges to profitably building and selling the vehicles.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">\u201cAs the No. 2 EV brand in the U.S. for the past two years, we are committed to scaling a profitable EV business, using capital wisely and bringing to market the right gas, hybrid and fully electric vehicles at the right time,\u201d said Jim Farley, Ford president and CEO. \u201cOur breakthrough, next-generation EVs will be new from the ground up and fully software enabled, with ever-improving digital experiences and a multitude of potential services.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">In the first quarter of 2024, Ford\u2019s electric vehicle sales increased by 86% from subdued levels a year earlier.
