{"id":1683,"date":"2024-03-02T00:05:19","date_gmt":"2024-03-02T00:05:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstriumphs.com\/index.php\/2024\/03\/02\/gm-expands-north-america-recall-for-potentially-faulty-tailgates-to-820000-trucks\/"},"modified":"2024-03-02T00:05:19","modified_gmt":"2024-03-02T00:05:19","slug":"gm-expands-north-america-recall-for-potentially-faulty-tailgates-to-820000-trucks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstriumphs.com\/index.php\/2024\/03\/02\/gm-expands-north-america-recall-for-potentially-faulty-tailgates-to-820000-trucks\/","title":{"rendered":"GM expands North America recall for potentially faulty tailgates to 820,000 trucks"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p class=\"\">General Motors has expanded an earlier recall of its trucks over a faulty tailgate to include 820,000 vehicles sold in the U.S. and Canada.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">In a recent letter posted on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration\u2019s website, GM said 570,434 trucks may be affected by the issue, which may cause tailgates to inadvertently unlatch as a result of a short-circuit from water intrusion. <\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p class=\"\">Affected models include 2020 through 2024 Chevy Silverados and GMC Sierras. <\/p>\n<p class=\"\">In addition, approximately 249,000 vehicles sold in Canada are affected by the recall, according to records on Canada\u2019s motor vehicle recall database. <\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Earlier this month, GM said the recall affected approximately 323,000 U.S. vehicles.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">GM has not received any reports of major injuries or property damage related to the issue.
