The first is geopolitics, which Martin said now matters more than it ever has before. <\/p>\n
\u2018Countries that used to share resources aren\u2019t sharing them like they used to. And when the supply of something becomes uncertain, the price of that thing goes up. That\u2019s fueled a lot of the commodity prices that we\u2019ve seen,\u2019 he said. <\/p>\n
Martin also pointed to a lack of investment in the mining industry as important. <\/p>\n
\u2018These two forces butting up against each other makes for a very bullish case,\u2019 he explained. <\/p>\n
He also pointed to copper\u2019s bullish supply\/demand setup as a scenario that could play out for other metals as well \u2014 while the balance has been fairly consistent for decades, it\u2019s now looking like supply is set to fall short. <\/p>\n
\u2018You can take that blueprint and apply it to silver and nickel and many other commodities,\u2019 Martin said. <\/p>\n
When it comes to VRIC, there will be three main themes: geopolitics, macro finance and capital allocation in mining. He\u2019s planning to bring together experts who can speak on those topics, and said more than 100 keynote speakers will be taking the stage.
